As an Animation Engineer, you will be at the forefront of developing captivating character animations that bring our game to life. Working closely with animators, artists, and game developers, you will utilise your technical skills to develop and optimise animation systems, tools, and pipelines. From character movements to environmental animations, your contributions will play a crucial role in elevating the visual quality and immersive experience of our game.

Key Duties Include:

  • Collaborate with animators, artists, and game designers to understand animation requirements and technical constraints.
  • Design, develop, and implement animation systems, tools, and pipelines to support character and environmental animations.
  • Optimise animation performance and memory usage to ensure smooth gameplay experiences across various platforms and devices.
  • Implement advanced animation techniques, including blend trees, inverse kinematics (IK), and procedural animation, to enhance character behaviours and interactions.
  • Integrate animations with UE5 and proprietary tools, ensuring seamless synchronisation with gameplay mechanics.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest animation technologies and industry trends, and share knowledge with the team to drive continuous improvement.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as an Animation Engineer or similar role in the games industry.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as C++, C#, or Python, with a strong understanding of object-oriented design principles.
  • Solid knowledge of animation techniques, including rigging, skinning, keyframing, and motion capture.
  • Experience with animation middleware and tools (e.g., Maya, Blender, 3ds Max) and game engines.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with the ability to debug and optimise complex animation systems.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Passion for gaming and a creative mindset, with a desire to push the boundaries of animation technology in games.
