Company Description
LighterHR is an established HR Consultancy with offices in London and Manchester. We provide support to all size clients, from start-ups to multi-nationals in a very broad range of industry sectors. We pride ourselves on building long-term relationships with our clients and working with them on both day-to-day operational HR activities and more strategic HR initiatives.
About the role
The role of HR Consultant at LighterHR gives individuals the opportunity to get involved in the full range of HR activities. One minute you'll be dealing with a complex grievance, the next you'll be creating a career development framework and the next you'll be reviewing a contract for a new client.
Key responsibilities
- To provide HR guidance to clients on HR matters, considering the different courses of action available, discussing associated risk, and preparing relevant information and guidance notes.
- To execute HR processes on a client's behalf, ensuring the client is kept fully informed of progress and consulted regarding all decisions.
- To deliver projects which improve a client's HR processes and capabilities, aligning best practice with solutions appropriate to the client.
- To create client HR documentation, including review and update of existing documentation, ensuring it is legally compliant and fit for its purpose.
About You
For this role, you ideally need to have some HR consulting experience. We're looking for someone who is hungry for their next challenge. It's worth noting that, if you've been in an in-house role up until this point in your career and you're looking to move into the world of HR Consultancy, you need to be prepared that it's a very different type of role! From an in-house role you'll have gained some of the HR knowledge that the role requires but there will be many additional skills that you'll need to develop - commercial awareness, client management and many more. You will need to work in a different way, managing many complex matters simultaneously, whilst managing client expectations and contributing to the development of LighterHR. It's not a switch that is for everyone so do make sure you've really thought about the difference between an in-house role and consultancy.
A key element of the role is building relationships with clients. You need to be passionate about delivering an exceptional client experience. We develop long lasting relationships with our clients and take enormous pride in doing a good job for them.
What we offer
- The role will be based in London.
- We operate a hybrid working model however, this is not contractual as we need to put the requirements of our clients first and we need to be available to attend client site as needed. We cannot guarantee a regular schedule of home-working. Consultancy requires a great deal of flexibility.
- We use the first three months of employment to train you and familiarise you with our ways of working and the specific requirements of our clients. During that time we ask you to be in the office for 5 days each week. After this time, we aim for a work pattern of two days from home and three days in the office, subject to client needs.
- 25 holidays per year plus 2 volunteering days.
- An opportunity to learn through doing! The type of work we do is challenging and you'll get a great deal of exposure to complex cases from early on in your career.
- We are looking for someone to join the team as quickly as possible.
If you're looking for your next HR role and an opportunity to broaden your experience and the above sounds like you, please apply by submitting your full CV.
For the avoidance of doubt, we are the employer (not a recruitment agency).
