Technical Sales Specialist – Single Cell Analysis Instrumentation (UK / remote)

Our mission is to push the boundaries of complex cell analysis. Using the Lightcast platform we are working with major pharmaceutical companies and leading academic institutes. Together, using our next generation microfluidic platform, we are making advances towards new science, unique clinical approaches, new therapies and innovative products.
The Lightcast platform allows precise and highly flexible independent control of thousands of microdroplets independently and in parallel using software-generated light patterns. By combining droplets containing different cells, antibodies, cancer drugs, reporters and /or other reagents we can perform complex workflows and assays with a flexibility far beyond what is currently possible on any cell analysis platform.

We are developing a revolutionary new technology set to transform the industry, and as we expand our team, we’re looking for an ambitious Technical Sales Specialist who is eager to be part of something truly special.
As a Technical Sales Specialist in the Commercial Development Team, reporting to the Associate Director of Commercial Development, you will be expected to:
- Sales & Business Development: Cultivate relationships with key stakeholders in research labs, universities, biotech, and pharmaceutical companies, driving the sales cycle from prospecting to close.
- Customer Relationship Management: Maintain relationships with existing customers, ensuring they receive exceptional product support and continued updates on new offerings.
- Product Knowledge: Develop and maintain a strong understanding of our evolving life sciences product portfolio.
- Lead Generation: Utilize cold calls, email outreach, and networking events to generate new sales leads and expand market reach.
- Account and Contact Mapping: Conduct thorough research to identify and chart potential customer accounts and key contacts within the territory.
- CRM & Data Management: Log interactions and sales activity in CRM software, tracking engagement and conversion metrics for continuous improvement.
- Event & Conference Participation: Represent the company at trade shows, conferences, and industry networking events to generate interest, strengthen relationships, and build connections.
Work Location: Cambridge, UK
This role requiressignificant travel flexibility, up to 60%, and a full driver’s license with access to a personal vehicle.
We would expect you to have:
- MSc or PhD in Biology, Immunology, or a related life sciences field.
- 1 – 3 years customer facing experience as an FAS, sales professional, or business development specialist
- Experience with fluorescence microscopy, flow cytometry, antibody discovery, antibody development, and/or cell therapies.
- Strong communication, presentation and interpersonal skills with the ability to convey technical concepts clearly to a diverse audience.
- Self-motivated with ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team-driven environment and ambitious targets and deadlines.
- A passion for innovation and a strong interest in progressing in a commercial sales environment.
- Exceptional oral and written communication and interpersonal skills, including small and large group presentations
- A great team player with flexibility in mind and willingness to learn
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to network broadly, both internal and external to the company, to capture consensus, support, and influence
- Flexibility to travel up to 60% for customer visits, meetings, and conferences.
- A full driver’s license and access to a personal vehicle.
