The finance function is broken. Finance teams at fast-growing, multi-entity companies are outgrowing their single-entity ledgers and facing a familiar crossroads: bolt on more tools, or go full corporate ERP. Neither option is good. The Frankenstack breaks. The ERP weighs you down with implementation fees and consultants. There has to be a better, more AI native way. There is. It's Light. Light is building an AI-native financial platform for modern companies. Fast to implement, intuitive to use, and designed to get smarter over time. We call it organic software. Companies like Legora, Lovable, and Fuse Energy run on Light. Following our $30M Series A last year, we're building the team that will make Light the default finance platform for the next generation of businesses.
WHY PRODUCT MARKETING, WHY NOW. Marketing at Light already moves fast. We run almost everything in-house, from content to event production, field marketing, demand gen and brand. What we don't have yet is someone whose full-time job is the product story specifically. Right now that gap gets filled in the cracks of other people's jobs: our VP of Product writes the positioning decks, our CEO catches the taglines that don't agree with each other. That's fine when you're small. It stops working the moment Product ships as fast as ours does. This is a founding hire inside a Marketing team with huge potential for growth and accountability. You’ll make sure Light sounds as sharp as it actually is, everywhere it shows up.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING.
- Sharpening Light's positioning and narrative alongside leadership. Helping settle what we say we are, defending it across every asset, and holding the line as fast as we ship.
- Writing and producing the thing itself: launch campaigns, video scripts, product explainers, versus pages, customer stories. Not briefing someone else to do it.
- Enabling sales: battlecards, one-pagers, and narrative docs that take this work off our product team's desk for good.
- Building and maintaining your own AI tooling, prompts, skills, agents, to do this work, rather than managing a team of writers or an agency to do it for you.
- Showing up on camera and in the room. You'll be one of the public faces of Light, sharing wisdom at events, on video, and in the market.
- Working closely with Product to ensure every feature launch starts with defining the value it will bring to our customer. That means workshopping with our customers directly to understand the real ask behind the ask.
- Reporting to our VP Marketing, with an accountability line to our VP Product Development to keep product truth and market narrative in step.
WHAT WE THINK YOU'LL NEED
- Real accounting or finance domain knowledge. Maybe you’re a former Finance professional, or you’ve worked in product/marketing at a fintech previously. You need an ear for the customer before you can be the voice of the product.
- 5 to 8 years in product marketing at a fast-growing B2B SaaS company, ideally one where you operated as a team of one or two rather than a specialist inside a large function.
- A real track record of shipping content yourself: you’ll be supported by a great creative team, but you’ll need to have the chops yourself.
- Enough technical fluency to sit in lock-step with our product function.
- Genuine enthusiasm for AI tooling, not just comfort with it. We're an AI-native company and use it across everything we build and do. Just as Light helps finance teams do their best work, we expect our people to use AI to do theirs.
- The judgment to ship without waiting for sign-off on every asset.
- To be based in London, Copenhagen, or wherever the story is.
The good stuff.
- 🏢 In-office culture, five days a week, with a high talent-density team.
- 💸 Competitive salary.
- 🏝 25 days annual leave plus public holidays in your country of employment.
- 🚀 The chance to shape a category from the inside, not just market around it.
- 🌍 Regular travel to Copenhagen, London, and wherever the action is.
- 🥳 Company off-sites twice a year. The last one was in Italy.
