The successful Software Engineer will be working on our Server Platform that supports our suite of Table Products across the US, Australia, and Europe.

Position Summary

You will be joining a team of 9 Creators who are working to refactor an existing platform to utilise new technology in the following tech stack: .Net8, RabbitMQ and Automated Testing. Strong C# knowledge and experience working in a successful software engineer position (2 years) are important in this role.

Main Role Responsibilities:

  • Understand and produce software that satisfies the agreed design
  • Perform reasonable functional and unit tests on completed code ensuring it enters the SQA process with minimal defects
  • Peer review software written by other engineers providing written and verbal feedback
  • Highlight areas where the design and procedures can be improved
  • Provide regular feedback on progress and issues, via daily stand-ups
  • Plan and take responsibility for the delivery of your work
  • Achieve an optimum balance between technical purity, product presentation and on-time delivery
  • Adhere to in-house/project coding/design styles, tools and methodologies
  • Contribute on various projects
  • Contribute to support documentation to assist users
  • Assist in debugging
  • Be flexible to deal with the dichotomy of deadlines and changes or issues occurring as natural process of software development

Essential Skills:

  • Relevant and demonstrable experience (Degree in relevant subject would be beneficial but not required)
  • Minimum of 2 years professional experience in a Software Engineering role covering the full software development lifecycle
  • Strong experience of C# development (C/C++ development is beneficial)
  • Good knowledge of developing in relational databases and store procedures, ideally in MS SQL Server and PostGreSQL
  • Good understanding of multi-threaded application development, client/server architecture and REST APIs
  • Experience of developing and using event-based systems

Desirable Skills:

  • Good understanding of source code control tools such as Git, Subversion and Perforce
  • Knowledge of Network Fundamentals, such as Unicast, Multicast, IP Subnetting and IP Routing (beneficial)
  • Knowledge of Linux development
