The Role: You’ll be the driving force behind our most complex technical productions, leading diverse teams to seamlessly integrate lighting, sound, and video elements for prestigious live events. With extensive experience (typically 6+ years) delivering creative lighting design & systems in client facing roles, you’ll lead the delivery of key projects ensuring our values of creativity, passion and excellence are upheld every step of the way. Your skills as a lighting specialist will allow you to creatively incorporate a range of lighting design elements into our varied projects, advising and mentoring others in the team to achieve similar results. Beyond your core area of technical expertise, you’ll have a strong understanding of associated disciplines like audio, video and scenic technologies, and a willingness to expand your knowledge of these areas. Whilst not essential, a full driving licence and a car would be highly beneficial. You will be a confident communicator, comfortable dealing with a wide range of clients to understand what makes them tick, and what their objectives are for each project. You’ll embrace every brief with both a creative and commercial eye to ensure we deliver great results whilst maintaining a healthy financial position. As a technical leader, you'll guide both projects and teams from initial brief to final execution. You'll cultivate a culture of excellence, developing talent while maintaining high technical standards. Your experience enables you to effectively coordinate departments, delegate responsibilities, and maintain clear communication channels throughout each project. In the role you'll mentor and support other team members to develop their skills while ensuring flawless project delivery. Your ability to build strong relationships, manage resources, and identify opportunities for growth makes you an invaluable leader within our organisation.
Your Typical Workday:
- Maintain excellent client communications in person and remotely to build relationships and confidence
- Receive and analyse client briefs with a willingness to ask lots of questions
- Respond to client briefs with considered questions, suggestions and professional wisdom
- Work with other team members to develop responses to briefs, leveraging others technical excellence and growing others with your technical excellence
- Produce accurate and well thought out quotations and proposals that answer client pain-points effectively
- Work with clients to fine-tune briefs, ensuring we deliver world class results
- Lead and motivate technical teams across multiple projects
- Produce equipment specifications and technical documentation
- Lead onsite delivery, coordinating multiple technical departments
- Monitor team performance and provide constructive and thoughtful feedback
- Adapt swiftly to changing requirements while keeping teams aligned

The Role Details:
- Reports To: Head of Projects
- Schedule: Core Hours Monday to Friday 8am to 5pm, with flexibility required for evenings.
- Location: Borehamwood (25 minutes from central London)
- Hybrid Working: We offer a hybrid working arrangement after six months, with two days working remotely and three days in the office, allowing new starters time to fully embed themselves in our processes and culture before transitioning to a more flexible way of working.
- Holiday: 30 Days including Bank Holidays
