Machine Learning Engineer

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement machine learning models to predict competitive bidding landscape, conversion rate, ad relevance to users, etc.
• Analyze data to identify useful relations, patterns and features that are predictive of user behaviours, preferences, intents, interests.
• Continuously identify and explore new and unconventional data sources.
• Generate hypotheses and design effective online experiments to continuously iterate and improve algorithm performance.
• Take on unique modeling challenges of data sparsity, delayed feedback, as well as modeling in the context of privacy restrictions.
• Work with engineering and operations teams to build machine learning models, monitor and evaluate their health and effectiveness in production.
• Use strong communication skills (verbal and written) to explain statistical and machine learning concepts to both technical and non‑technical audiences.

Requirements

• Three or more years of experience; Masters or PhD in Computer Science, Economics, Statistics, Math, Data Science, Engineering, or related field.
• Expert in at least one scientific programming language (Python is strongly preferred).
• Expert in probability distributions, statistical modeling and machine learning.
• Proficient with structured query language (SQL).
• Proficient with Bayesian statistics and modeling.

Bonus

• Familiar with at least one deep learning framework (e.g. PyTorch, TensorFlow).
• Experience deploying effective ML models to production.
• Experience with auction dynamics and bidding strategies.
• Experience maintaining high quality production code.
• Experience connecting to data sources and prototyping data pipelines.
• Adtech experience is a plus.
