About the Finance Team
Liftango's Finance function supports a globally distributed business spanning the UK, Australia, the Middle East and the US.
The team manages the full month-end close, group reporting, cashflow, payroll and statutory compliance across all entities, alongside delivering board reporting, investor analysis and commercial KPI tracking that underpins decision-making at the highest level of the business.
Role Overview
This is a fixed-term Management Accountant role created to provide continuity across Liftango's UK Finance Controller's maternity leave.
You will spend the first months of the contract working closely with the Finance Controller to take on the consolidated management accounts, group reconciliations and weekly cashflow process, before stepping up to run these independently during the maternity leave period.
Alongside this, you will play a hands‑on role developing the Finance Administrator, supporting their progression toward an Assistant Accountant level and a broader scope of monthly and reconciliation duties.
This role is fully remote with the potential for occasional travel to Edinburgh and is a full time, fixed term contract for 18‑24 months.
This role suits someone who is comfortable owning the monthly close end‑to‑end across multiple entities, confident working independently once handover is complete, and motivated by the opportunity to mentor and develop a more junior team member alongside their own technical delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Cash Management: Monitor global bank balances, prepare weekly cashflow updates, and ensure sufficient liquidity to meet payment obligations.
- Accounts Payable & Receivable: Review and approve supplier and non‑standard customer invoices, manage supplier communications, and oversee credit control escalations.
- Payment Processing: Execute all payment runs, including credit card, supplier, contractor, and payroll payments.
- Monthly Closing: Prepare balance sheet, bank, and intercompany reconciliations across all entities and group levels.
- Management Reporting: Consolidate management accounts for sign‑off and support the preparation of departmental budget versus actuals reporting.
- Saa S Metrics: Maintain and report on MRR, NRR, CARR, Live ARR, contract status, and churn.
- Payroll & HR: Process UK payroll and assist with employee onboarding and the management of HR/payroll platforms.
- Tax & Compliance: Prepare and facilitate the statutory reporting requirements with our accounting providers in each region, including year‑end accounts, VAT returns, tax filings, R&D claims, and regulatory reporting.
- Team Development: Train and mentor the Finance Administrator, guiding their progression toward an Assistant Accountant level.
- Operational Support: Handle ad‑hoc tasks such as employee expense approvals, bank transaction matching, and liaising with external accountants.
About You
- Qualified or part‑qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent), or extensive demonstrable experience in a comparable management accounting role.
- Proven experience owning month‑end close and group reconciliations across multiple entities or currencies.
- Confident working independently and taking ownership of a function with minimal day‑to‑day oversight once handover is complete.
- Strong attention to detail and a genuine interest in coaching and developing junior team members.
- Clear, proactive communicator, comfortable liaising with stakeholders across the business and with external advisors.
- Experience in a Saa S or subscription‑based business is highly regarded, including familiarity with MRR/ARR reporting.
- Comfortable working in a fast‑paced, globally distributed start‑up environment.
- Why Join Liftango
You will join a finance team at the centre of a fast‑growing, global Saa S business, with direct exposure to board‑level reporting, multi‑entity consolidation and the commercial metrics that drive a transport technology platform.
This role offers genuine ownership of a critical function, a structured handover and support from the Finance Controller throughout, and the opportunity to make a tangible impact developing a high‑potential team member during the contract.
