After School Club Assistant

Salary: NJC 3-4, Outer London is £28,617 - 29,025 FTE, actual salary: £9,934 - £10,076 + well‑being cash plan + Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS) + additional Lift Schools benefits.

Hours: 15 hours per week, term time only.

Contract: Permanent. Start date: September 2026.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, prepare and deliver engaging activities that meet the individual developmental needs of children.
  • Create a safe, welcoming and stimulating environment where children can play, learn and develop.
  • Encourage children's social, emotional, physical and creative development through a range of structured and free‑play activities.
  • Work closely with colleagues to ensure high standards of care and supervision at all times.
  • Register pupils and follow school procedures for attendance and safeguarding.
  • Prepare and distribute healthy snacks while promoting good hygiene and healthy lifestyles.
  • Build positive relationships with children, parents and carers, providing feedback where appropriate.
  • Liaise with the School Operations Manager regarding the planning, attendance and day‑to‑day running of the club.
  • Maintain a clean, organised and safe environment before, during and after each session.
  • Promote positive behaviour and follow school policies relating to safeguarding, health and safety, behaviour and first aid.
