This is an exciting opportunity to play a central role in supporting colleagues throughout their employment journey, from recruitment and onboarding through to payroll, absence management and employee records.

You’ll work closely with school leaders, HR colleagues and our recruitment team to deliver an efficient, professional and people-focused HR service across the region, for 5 of our schools, including: Lift Greenwood, Lift Four Dwellings, Lift Lea Forest, Lift Percy Shurmer, and Lift Anglesey.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Support recruitment and coordinate onboarding activities for new colleagues
  • Complete safer recruitment and pre‑employment checks
  • Support payroll administration and help ensure colleagues are paid accurately and on time
  • Maintain employee records and HR systems
  • Manage HR queries through the regional HR inbox
  • Produce HR correspondence and reports
  • Support probation, absence and colleague lifecycle processes
  • Help schools maintain compliance with employment and safeguarding requirements

What we’re looking for:

  • Excellent organisational skills and strong attention to detail
  • The ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Experience working with HR systems and confidential information
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Good IT skills, including Google Workspace or Microsoft Office
  • Experience within education, local government, the NHS, housing, charities or another public sector organisation would be highly beneficial.
  • Experience of safer recruitment, payroll administration or school-based HR processes would also be an advantage, although not essential.

Why join Lift Schools?

You’ll join a supportive and collaborative HR team that is passionate about making a difference to schools and the communities they serve. We’re a diverse and inclusive network of schools with one clear mission: to provide an excellent education to every child – in every classroom, every day. And we do this across each of our 59 schools. As with our students, we want our team to be empowered to do their best work, supported by the best leadership they’ve ever had. We acknowledge and appreciate the exceptional efforts of everyone here in making this an incredible organisation.

We offer you:

  • Comprehensive training: Access a wide range of developmental training to boost your career.
