Join us as a Regional Education Director for our East region

Are you ready to lead the way in educational excellence across our primary, secondary and special schools in the East (5 primary, 5 secondary and 2 special)?

At Lift Schools, we believe in the transformative power of education, in every classroom, every day. As the Regional Education Director, you’ll be pivotal in realising this mission by nurturing high-quality school leadership across our network.

Your purpose: our north star

Your primary focus will be on developing our principals and school leaders. By building strong professional relationships founded on trust, you will create an environment where they can thrive and reach their full potential. The Regional Education Director role is instrumental in driving us to achieve our ambitious goal – what we call 490 – by 2028. 490 means that we want 90% of children to pass the key stage 1 phonics check, 90% to reach the expected standard in reading, writing and maths at key stage 2 and 90% of our pupils to achieve the grade 4 or above in GCSE English and maths, and 90% of children to be secure readers for their age.

What you’ll do

  • Know your principals: Commit to meaningful meetings with each principal. Your support will be consistent, developmental, and tailored to their needs, ensuring measurable progress in their leadership journey.
  • Know your schools: Dedicate time to immerse yourself in the schools within your region. Engage with staff, students, parents, and the wider community to understand each school’s unique strengths and areas for growth.
  • Know your region: Develop a deep understanding of the geographical and political landscape of your region. Forge strong relationships with other professionals and organisations to enhance our collective impact and succession planning.
  • Champion learning and leadership: Stay aligned with our network strategy and organisational design, using this knowledge to support principal development and school improvement. Continuously seek professional growth opportunities to sharpen your expertise.

What you bring

You’re a driven leader with:

  • A track record of developing school leaders and fostering strong relationships.
  • An unwavering commitment to ensuring all children and young people, regardless of background or ability, receive an excellent education.
  • The ability to balance support with challenge, empowering principals to take ownership of their growth.
  • Exceptional organisational skills and a proactive mindset, enabling you to prioritise effectively amid competing demands.

How we invest in you

We believe that talent drives performance. As a leader at Lift Schools, you’ll have the backing of a national network, work closely with the schools in your region, and benefit from a tailored programme designed to help you grow and succeed.

We will give you the space and agency to direct your own development, underpinned by a dedicated package for learning and development. If successful, you will receive:

  • An individual development account of up to £100,000 over five years.
  • Experiential learning, including study tours.
  • High support and high challenge from a regional education director.
  • One-to-one ‘anytime’, unlimited frequency executive coaching.
  • A year-long induction programme.
  • The option of a professional sabbatical after five years.
