Build your career in data protection. We are looking for an enthusiastic, diligent, and highly organised individual to join our central team and grow with us. This is a development opportunity, ideal for someone at the start of their career who is curious, motivated, and keen to build a future in data protection and information governance.

Make a real difference across our schools. You will work closely with our Data Protection Officer to help ensure personal data across Lift Schools is handled securely, lawfully, and transparently. From coordinating information requests and supporting data breach management to helping promote a strong culture of privacy awareness, your work will make a real difference to schools, colleagues, and families.

Training and development. We can support the successful candidate to complete the Level 4 Data Protection and Information Governance Practitioner apprenticeship, with training fees covered through our apprenticeship levy if you wish to take this route. We will guide you through finding an apprenticeship provider and support you throughout your learning and development.

This is a fast-paced and varied role, so you will need to be proactive, well organised, and confident communicating with a wide range of people, including senior leaders, colleagues, and parents and carers.

We are keen to hear from you if you:

  • Have a genuine interest in data protection, compliance, or information governance
  • Enjoy working in a responsive, sometimes unpredictable environment
  • Are a clear and thoughtful communicator
  • Have a keen eye for detail
  • Are confident using Google Workspace (or keen to learn)

Experience in education, compliance, UK GDPR, Freedom of Information, or cyber security is helpful, but not essential. What matters most is your willingness to learn and grow.

Applicants must be UK-based and have the right to work in the UK. If you are looking for a role where you can build skills, gain a recognised qualification, and be supported every step of the way, we would love to hear from you.

Who is Lift Schools? We are a diverse and inclusive network of schools with one clear mission; to provide an excellent education to every child - in every classroom, every day. And we do this across each of our 58 schools. As with our students, we want our team to be empowered to do their best work, supported by the best leadership they have ever had. We acknowledge and appreciate the exceptional efforts of everyone here in making this an incredible organisation.

How we support you. At Lift Schools, we believe talent drives performance. We offer you:

  • Comprehensive training: We offer bespoke training to help you hone your skills and progress your career.
  • Generous benefits: From your pension plan to healthcare and financial support, we have got you covered.
  • Lifestyle savings: Enjoy discounted gym memberships, travel deals, and even electric vehicle incentives.

Closing date: Thursday 19th February 2026. We reserve the right to close this vacancy early should we receive an overwhelming response. All candidates are advised to refer to the job description and person specification before making an application.

Lift Schools are committed to ensuring the highest levels of safeguarding and promoting the welfare of our pupils, and we expect all our people and volunteers to share this commitment. We adopt a fair and consistent recruitment process which is in line with Keeping Children Safe in Education guidance. This includes online checks for shortlisted candidates. All offers of employment are subject to an Enhanced DBS check, references, and where applicable, a prohibition from teaching check.

Lift Schools embraces diversity and promotes equality of opportunity. Job share, part-time and flexible working opportunities will be considered. We are a Disability Confident Employer and there is a guaranteed interview scheme for candidates with disabilities who meet the minimum selection criteria.
