School Facilities Manager
Location: Longmore Street, Birmingham, B12 9ED, United Kingdom.
Salary: NCJ point 12 (£28,598.00) – 17 (£31,022.00) FTE. Actual Salary: £15,458.38 – £16,768.65 + well‑being cash plan + pension scheme + additional Lift Schools benefits.
Hours: Part‑time 20 hours a week (shifts 10:00am – 2:00pm).
Contract: Fixed Term until August 2027.
Start date: As soon as possible.
About the Role
This is an important and valued role helping to keep the school safe, secure and running smoothly each day.
Responsibilities
- Opening, securing and monitoring the site
- Carrying out minor repairs and basic maintenance
- Setting up rooms and moving equipment
- Supervising contractors on site
- Ensuring cleanliness, safety and good presentation of the premises
- Responding to occasional call‑outs when required
Qualifications and Experience
- Experience as school caretaker, facilities manager, site supervisor, maintenance operative, building manager, semi‑retired property professional, or tradesperson
- Good practical DIY/maintenance skills
- Reliability and common sense
- Ability to work independently
- Awareness of health and safety
- Friendly and professional manner
- Full driving licence and access to a vehicle
