We believe every child deserves a world-class education and we work relentlessly to make that happen. Our school is a place where every pupil is valued, supported, challenged and inspired, and where our team takes pride in having the highest of expectations and ensuring our students achieve excellent outcomes.

About the role

As an English Teacher at Kingswood Academy, you'll create a learning environment where all students feel supported and encouraged. You'll plan engaging lessons, track student progress, and provide helpful feedback. Working closely with colleagues, pastoral staff, and parents, you'll help meet the needs of every student and build their confidence.

Key responsibilities:

  • Plan and teach lessons that engage students and build understanding.
  • Adapt your teaching style to meet the needs of all learners, including those with SEND, high ability, and EAL.
  • Use assessment and feedback to help students reflect on their progress and close any gaps.
  • Build a positive classroom culture with clear routines and high expectations for behaviour.
  • Work with colleagues, parents, and support staff to create the best outcomes for every student.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has QTS, or is currently training and due to achieve QTS by September 2026, or holds a degree in English and would like to transition into teaching through our in-house Instructor training route, leading to securing qualified teacher status within two years.
  • Has a genuine passion for teaching and a love for the subject.
  • Has a desire to make a difference to young people's lives.
  • Is committed to great relationships and high-quality teaching.
  • Wants to work in a school where hard work is supported and valued.
