Responsibilities- Deliver pre‑prepared lessons to classes in the absence of the teacher.
- Ensure students remain on task and follow the school's behaviour expectations.
- Manage the classroom environment to support positive behaviour and effective learning.
- Provide feedback to the relevant teacher about lesson progress, behaviour, or issues arising.
- Supervise students during non‑class time when required (e.g., registration, breaks, exams).
- Follow safeguarding procedures and maintain the safety and wellbeing of all students.
- Assist with administrative tasks or learning support activities when cover is not required.
- A minimum of GCSE 4/C (or equivalent) in English and Maths.
- An A level(s) (or equivalent) in other subjects.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to relate to young people.
- Confidence in managing a classroom and maintaining order.
- Ability to follow lesson plans and deliver instructions clearly.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to use initiative.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of students.
