Lift Kingswood is growing, and to support our continued growth we are seeking a confident, proactive, and adaptable Cover Supervisor to join our dedicated team. The successful candidate will supervise classes during the short-term absence of teaching staff, ensuring students remain engaged in learning and that classroom expectations are upheld.

This is an excellent opportunity for individuals considering a future career in teaching, education, or youth work, or for those with strong classroom management skills who enjoy working with young people.

You're someone who'll be able to:

  • Deliver pre-prepared lessons to classes across the school in the absence of the teacher.
  • Ensure students remain on task and follow the school's behaviour expectations.
  • Manage the classroom environment to support positive behaviour and effective learning.
  • Provide feedback to the relevant teacher about lesson progress, behaviour, or issues arising.
  • Supervise students during non-class time when required (e.g., registration, breaks, exams).
  • Follow safeguarding procedures and maintain the safety and wellbeing of all students.
  • Assist with administrative tasks or learning support activities when cover is not required.

You're someone who has:

  • A minimum of GCSE 4/ C (or equivalent) in English and Maths.
  • An A level(s) (or equivalent) within other subjects.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to relate to young people.
  • Confidence in managing a classroom and maintaining order.
  • Ability to follow lesson plans and deliver instructions clearly.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to use initiative.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of students.
