Salary: £75,000 + TPS pension + additional benefits

Based at Lift Aylward in North London but with frequent travel to our other London secondaries and central offices in London.

Hours: Full time, split 50:50 between the base school, Lift Aylward, and cross-region working and projects. While this role is advertised as full time, we are open to colleagues wishing to work part time and would be keen to explore specific models that work for strong candidates.

We are now seeking an expert mathematics leader to drive subject‑specific school improvement in our London region.

About the role

This role sits at the heart of our school support team. Working closely with our London schools, the Regional Mathematics Leader will build capacity and expertise to ensure excellent maths teaching, leadership and student outcomes across the region.

Responsibilities include:

  • Lead the implementation of our maths strategy across the schools.
  • Provide expert support and guidance to maths leaders and their teams.
  • Use experience and leadership skills to drive improvements in standards and teaching in mathematics.
  • Blend strategic development with practical hands‑on support, including regular teaching and leadership work at the base school, Lift Aylward.
  • Jointly account for subject performance and improvement with local maths leaders.
  • Collaborate with colleagues, give advice and counsel, lead by example and promote our shared values and mindsets.
  • Develop an area of national expertise to deliver impact across our network.
  • Work alongside the National Lead for Secondary Mathematics, our Regional Education Director for London and South, Heads of Department, Principals and other school leaders.

About you

You are an experienced and credible secondary mathematics leader with a strong track record of improving outcomes and teaching. You hold significant expertise in effective mathematics education. You are strategic, network‑mindful and passionate about ensuring excellence as a standard.

The role is due to commence January 2027 or earlier, where possible. It is a fixed‑term position for one year initially, with scope for successful candidates to transition into a permanent role longer term.
