How to prepare for a job interview at Lift Aylward

Know Your Subject Inside Out

As a RE Teacher, it's crucial to have a deep understanding of various religious traditions and their moral dilemmas. Brush up on key beliefs, practices, and ethical issues that you might be asked about. This will not only help you answer questions confidently but also demonstrate your passion for the subject.

Showcase Your Teaching Style

Prepare to discuss how you engage students in critical thinking and open dialogue. Think of examples from your past experiences where you've successfully facilitated discussions or activities that encouraged students to explore their beliefs. This will give interviewers insight into your teaching philosophy and methods.

Highlight Your Community Engagement

Since the role involves organising visits to places of worship and interfaith dialogues, be ready to share any relevant experiences. Talk about how you've previously connected with local communities or arranged events that enhanced students' understanding of different faiths. This shows your commitment to enriching students' learning experiences.

Ask Thoughtful Questions

Interviews are a two-way street! Prepare some insightful questions about the school's approach to RE, their support for teachers, and opportunities for professional development. This not only shows your interest in the position but also helps you gauge if the school aligns with your values and career goals.
