We are looking for someone who is passionate about supporting children's learning and development and who can help create a positive, inclusive and engaging learning environment for all pupils.

About the role

As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and other school staff to support pupils both in and out of the classroom. You will help pupils access learning, develop independence and achieve their full potential academically, socially and emotionally.

Key responsibilities

  • Supporting pupils' learning and development across the curriculum
  • Assisting teachers with planning, preparation and classroom activities
  • Delivering small group and individual interventions
  • Promoting positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing
  • Supporting pupils with SEND and additional learning needs
  • Helping to create a safe, stimulating and inclusive learning environment
  • Working collaboratively with teachers, parents/carers and pastoral staff
  • Supporting educational visits and wider school activities

Qualifications and experience

  • Experience working with children or young people in a school, childcare or similar setting
  • Experience or passion for working in the EYFS
  • Experience or passion for working with children with significant complex needs
  • Patient, empathetic and resilient
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
  • Effective team player
  • Hold GCSE Maths and English at Grade 4/C or above (or equivalent), or willing to work towards these qualifications
  • Hold a Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent), or willing to undertake training
  • Experience with SEND support and knowledge of Google Workspace advantageous
