Support Worker / Care Assistant (Adults with Learning Disabilities) - Bank Roles

Day shifts £15.13 - £15.30 per hour

Night shifts £17.48 - £17.65 per hour (Hourly rates are dependent on qualifications and are inclusive of rolled-up holiday pay)

Make a Difference in the Lives of Adults with Learning Disabilities!

We’re looking for additional bank staff to support our core team at Sesame, covering annual leave and sickness. Our shifts are typically 12 hours, with a paid break for 12-hour shifts.

You’ll be joining our committed team, working to provide our residents with personalised, high-quality support. Delivering high-quality personal care, ensuring dignity and respect are always maintained.

  • Creating engaging activities and supporting participation.
  • We maintain staffing ratios of 1:2 for night shifts and either 1:1 or 2:1 for day shifts, depending on the residents’ needs. With four permanent residents, even those working bank or casual shifts will quickly become familiar with both our residents and the team.
  • Are able to work with the flexibility of shifts, sometimes with minimal notice, to ensure that the residents have the right staffing at the right time.
  • Are caring and compassionate, with an understanding of person-centred care.
  • Possess excellent communication skills (experience with non-verbal communication, such as Makaton, BSL, or PECS, is advantageous).
  • Ideally, have experience supporting people with learning disabilities in a residential setting (other relevant experience is also welcome).
  • Are flexible, adaptable, and responsive to changing needs.
  • Understand safeguarding and risk assessments.
