Are you passionate about empowering individuals with learning disabilities? Do you have the leadership skills to drive growth and deliver exceptional services? Lifeworks College, Dartington, is seeking a dynamic and experienced Day Services Manager to lead our Day Services. You will be the driving force behind our Holiday Programmes for young adults, the Saturday Clubs for people aged 11-30, and our weekday Day Services. You will ensure that we deliver high quality and person-centred services for all of the individuals we support.

Our Day Services consists of:

  • Saturday Club: Provides a supportive and engaging environment for social interaction and learning new skills during term-time (runs 36 weeks a year).
  • Holiday Club: Keeps the fun going operating Monday - Thursday during school holidays! (runs 10 weeks a year)
  • Day Services: A weekday provision, running Monday - Friday, 10am-4pm all year round.

What you’ll do:

  • Drive strategic growth, increasing participation and revenue through stakeholder engagement and targeted marketing strategies in partnership with our marketing agency.
  • Proactively identify grant opportunities and provide expert support in submitting compelling bid submissions.
  • Empower your team to success, through effective line management, scheduling, recruitment, as well as leading on training and development initiatives.
  • Lead on the creation and delivery of engaging, user-led activities and events that inspire and achieve positive outcomes.
  • Become the Designated Safeguarding Lead for our community programmes, ensuring the constant safety and wellbeing of all individuals that we support.
  • Keep person-centred care at the forefront of everything you plan, tailoring our services to meet individual needs and aspirations.
  • Conduct initial assessments to develop and implement comprehensive risk assessments, support plans, and outcome schedules.
  • Oversee the safe and efficient transportation of service users, prioritising their accessibility and safety.
  • Strengthen and maintain strong connections with service users, families, employers, and external agencies.
  • Work closely with the Head of College and Charity Service Delivery to ensure seamless integration and alignment across all services.

Your working hours:

As the Day Services Manager, you will work Tuesday - Saturday for 37.5 hours per week, over 52 weeks per year.

Who we’re looking for:

  • Extensive experience working with individuals with learning disabilities, understanding the unique challenges that they may face.
  • Experienced in delivering person-centred services to support vulnerable people.
  • Proven ability to develop comprehensive risk assessments and support plans that address individual needs and promote positive outcomes.
  • A robust understanding of Safeguarding legislation and Equality, with a commitment to embedding these principles in all aspects of our service delivery.
  • An excellent communicator, both written and verbal, with strong organisational skills to enable you to effectively manage changing situations, prioritise tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Proficient in Microsoft 365 and experienced in managing databases.
  • While not essential, prior experience in creating activities and events, securing grants, and writing bids is highly desirable. However, we encourage applications from individuals with transferable skills and a strong desire to learn.
