Are you an experienced Support Worker ready to take the next step in your career? Lifeways is offering an exciting opportunity to join us as a Team Leader at Bridge House, our supported living apartment service in Kingsbridge Wharf, Blackburn. You’ll work alongside the Service Manager to lead dedicated teams delivering life-enhancing support to adults with learning disabilities, autism, and mental health needs.

Your Role as a Leader Who Inspires:

  • Lead and motivate Support Workers to deliver high-quality, consistent support
  • Promote independence and wellbeing in every aspect of care
  • Support individuals with daily living, appointments, hobbies, and community engagement
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure personalised support plans are followed
  • Conduct staff supervisions, interviews, and ongoing development
  • Communicate effectively with staff, the people we support, families, and external professionals

What You Bring:

  • Experience as a Team Leader, Senior Support Worker, or Support Worker with a strong track record
  • NVQ/QCF in Health & Social Care (or equivalent) is advantageous
  • Strong communication, written, and IT skills
  • A commitment to empowering others and leading by example

Full-time: 37.5 hours per week. Shifts between 8:00am and 10:00pm, Monday to Sunday. Flexibility to meet the needs of the people we support.

About the Service – Bridge House (Kingsbridge Wharf, Blackburn):

Bridge House is a purpose-built supported living service comprising eight modern apartments, ideal for adults with learning disabilities, autism, and mental health needs. Each apartment features:

  • A main bedroom and a spare room
  • A kitchen, living room, and dining area
  • A bathroom with a bath

People living at Bridge House enjoy a balance of independence, peace, community support, and social connection.

Service Features:

  • Accessible shared garden for people to use during good weather
  • Located in a peaceful residential area with a strong community feel
  • A scenic canal at the back of the property, perfect for walks
  • Smaller pets allowed – including cats, birds, and fish (one person even has two rabbits!)
