At Lifeways we provide specialist support and recovery services for people with enduring mental health needs, helping them transition from institutional environments back into their own home within the community. We tailor our approach to meet each person’s unique needs, regardless of diagnosis. We are looking for caring, honest, innovative individuals to join our dedicated team of Bank Recovery Support colleagues in our Enhanced Community Recovery service in Stafford.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to recovery-focused, person-centred support to help clients live as independently as possible within the community.
  • Engage positively with clients and work as part of a team to deliver high-quality support in a busy service environment.
  • Maintain calm, professional standards and work effectively as a lone worker when required.

Requirements / About You

  • You may already have experience of providing care to people with mental health support needs; full training will be provided to enable you to deliver recovery-focused, person-centred support.
  • You should have an understanding of the needs of people living with mental health conditions, the willingness to learn, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and good IT skills, including word processing, databases and emails.
  • If you have an NVQ/QCF in Health & Social Care, that’s great; if not, Lifeways will support you in obtaining this and beyond.
  • This role is subject to an enhanced DBS check.

Service Context

At this service, the people we support live with mental health conditions, including a diverse range of illnesses such as schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, anxiety and depression. Some individuals may exhibit self-harm or self-medication behaviours, and some may display verbal aggression. The service works with individuals who have forensic histories and are under the MOJ, with conditions to their discharge. The environment is busy with many professionals coming and going; therefore, candidates should have a calm, supportive nature and be confident in lone-working and taking initiative. Good IT skills, clear spoken language, and effective professional communication with other professionals are required.
