Location: Leicester (LE5) – overseeing a Supported Living service and Outreach Care provision
Salary: £32,250 – £43,500 per annum + Bonus Scheme
We are looking for an experienced Service Manager to lead a service in Leicester currently in a period of recovery and improvement.
This is not a steady‑state role. The focus is on stabilising the service, bringing structure, supporting the team, and making sure the service is running safely and consistently day to day.
You will play a key role in ensuring the people we support receive safe, consistent, and high‑quality care, while we continue to strengthen leadership across the area.
What you’ll be doing
- Taking full responsibility for the day‑to‑day running of the service
- Stabilising staffing, rotas and team structure
- Supporting teams to deliver safe, consistent, person‑centred care
- Addressing quality and compliance gaps, including CQC actions
- Leading on safeguarding, MCA and DoLS
- Managing team performance, including:
- supervisions
- investigations
- performance improvement
What we’re looking for
- Experience as a Service Manager / Registered Manager in a regulated care setting (supported living, residential, nursing, domiciliary or similar) – all backgrounds considered
- Strong knowledge of CQC standards and compliance
- Strong knowledge of Safeguarding
- Strong knowledge of Mental Capacity Act (MCA) / DoLS
- People management and HR processes
- A hands‑on leadership style
- Able to step into a service, assess quickly, and get a clear grip of what’s needed
What to expect
- The service is currently in recovery, so there is a need to: re‑establish consistency, support teams through change, manage operational pressures
- You will be expected to take ownership and lead from the front
- You won’t be on your own — there is support from central teams (HR, Quality, PBS, Finance) and experienced turnaround managers — but day‑to‑day leadership sits with you
Why this role
- Opportunity to make a genuine, visible difference
- A chance to bring a service back to a safe, stable position
- A role suited to someone who thrives on improvement rather than steady‑state management
- You’ll be able to see the impact of what you do — in the team and for the people we support
If you’re someone who’s comfortable stepping into a service that needs direction and you’re confident bringing structure and stability, we’d like to hear from you.
