Community Activator Coach Apprenticeship – Maldon

  • 30 hours per week, exact shifts TBC including evenings and weekends

An Activator Coach promotes, delivers and coaches fun, inclusive and engaging activities that help whole communities to change their behaviour, adopt and keep to a physically active lifestyle. The Community Activator Coach will be a positive role model who builds good rapport with customers from all walks of life.

Summary

We are looking to increase our organisation\’s presence in delivering sport and physical activity in the local community. The role of a Community Activator Coach is to play a key part in supporting healthier communities, focusing on improving the health and well-being of the nation. They create a positive environment that supports people, especially young individuals, to grow and develop through sport and physical activity. These coaches promote, deliver, and lead fun, inclusive, and engaging activities that encourage whole communities to adopt and maintain a physically active lifestyle. Beyond being activity and sports leaders, they truly understand the needs of their communities and customers.

Primary roles of a Community Activator Coach apprentice:

Plan, deliver, evaluate and reflect on the delivery of sport and physical activity in the local community.
Work in partnership with local, schools, sports clubs and community centres to deliver engaging and sustainable sport and physical activity sessions.
Gain customer insight to tailor activities to different target audiences throughout the community.

What your apprenticeship includes:
-A mixture of face to face and online catch ups every 4 – 6 weeks to discuss feedback and progress
-A mixture of on and off the job training, including workshops and webinars
-Reviews every 12 weeks with your Line Manager and apprenticeship Trainer
-The chance to get Functional Skills in English and maths (if you donโ€™t already have GCSE)

-Working towards a level 2 Community Activator Coach apprenticeship over the course of 12-18 months

Demonstrated Passion:
A strong interest in the sport for development sector and a commitment to community engagement are often essential.

Qualifications required

At least 4 GCSEs, including English and Maths at a level 2/E (or equivalent).

Future prospects

We are a leading community sports provider in the Maldon area supporting all members of our community. We have a variety of bespoke projects that are currently running. Those who progress well will inherently become leaders of those projects. We also have a string foundation to explore new ventures based on ideas of candidates that may join us

LSC has grown from Little Scrummers rugby coaching to providing a full nursery, primary, infant, and junior schools programme.

We are a trusted partner of Active Essex and Essex County Council. We provide HAF programmes throughout the year and this includes our \’Big Days Out\’ and regular camp days.
