Role Description
The Registered Manager (Children's LD) is a full-time, on-site role based in Oldham, responsible for the operational management of a children’s learning disability service.
The postholder will oversee day-to-day service delivery, ensuring high standards of care, adherence to regulatory requirements, and effective safeguarding practices.
Key tasks include supervising and mentoring staff, managing rotas, conducting supervision and appraisals, and leading team meetings.
The Registered Manager will handle referrals, complete assessments and care plans, maintain accurate records, and liaise with families, local authorities, and external professionals.
The role also involves monitoring compliance with relevant legislation and guidance, managing budgets and resources, addressing incidents and complaints, and driving continuous service improvement.
Qualifications
- Strong leadership and service management skills, including team supervision, performance management, and the ability to coordinate day-to-day operations.
- Experience working with children and young people with learning disabilities, including person-centered care planning and behavior support.
- Sound knowledge of safeguarding, regulatory frameworks (e. g., Ofsted or equivalent), and best practices in children’s residential or health care settings.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with children, families, staff, and external professionals.
- Organisational and problem-solving skills, including record-keeping, report writing, and managing budgets and resources.
- Relevant professional qualification, such as Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care or Children and Young People’s Services (or willingness to work towards it).
- Previous experience as a Registered Manager or in a senior role within children’s services or learning disability settings is highly beneficial.
