An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and commercially minded Finance & Commercial Director to join our team at Lifelink. This senior leadership role is ideally suited for an individual ready to take the next step in their career and play a key role in shaping the future financial sustainability and commercial growth of a purpose‑driven organisation.

Role Overview: As Finance & Commercial Director, you will play a central role in supporting the organisation’s long‑term sustainability, innovation and growth. You will lead all aspects of the finance and commercial function, aligned with the organisation’s goals and objectives. Key responsibilities include:

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop the finance and commercial teams.
  • Provide strategic financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, statutory reporting, management accounts, and financial controls.
  • Manage organisational financial performance and support long‑term sustainability.
  • Ensure financial governance, audit, compliance, risk management, and regulatory requirements are met.
  • Develop commercial models, costing, pricing, or profitability analysis.
  • Support bids, tenders, contracts, and new business opportunities.
  • Identify and support sustainable income generation and organisational growth opportunities.
  • Analyse complex financial and operational data to drive insight‑led decisions and improvement.
  • Communicate financial information clearly to senior leaders and the Board.
  • Advise the leadership team and board on financial and commercial matters.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Experience in a senior finance or commercial leadership role with line‑management experience.
  • A degree or equivalent qualification in Accountancy, Finance, Business, or a related discipline.
  • A recognised professional accounting qualification such as CA, ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or CIPFA.
  • Strong experience of financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, statutory reporting, management accounts, and financial controls.
  • Experience managing organisational financial performance and supporting long‑term sustainability.
  • Knowledge of financial governance, audit, compliance, risk management, and regulatory requirements.
  • Experience of commercial modelling, costing, pricing, or profitability analysis.
  • Experience supporting bids, tenders, contracts, or new business opportunities.
  • Ability to identify and support sustainable income generation and organisational growth opportunities.
  • Analytical skills to interpret complex financial and operational data and drive insight‑led decisions and improvement.
  • Excellent communication and relationship‑management skills, with the ability to present financial information clearly to stakeholders including senior leaders and boards.
  • A collaborative, values‑led leadership style, with the ability to support change, growth, and continuous improvement.

Ideally You Will Have:

  • Experience working within a charity, social enterprise, or third‑sector organisation.
  • Experience with commissioned services, grant funding, or blended income models.
  • Experience in contract management, procurement, or commercial partnerships.
  • A strong understanding of the mental health and wellbeing sector.
