This role will work within our innovative Data & Technology group that continues to evolve to meet business needs, fuel Parexel's growth and enable improved support for stakeholders, including customers and ultimately patients, who will benefit from Parexel's integrated processes and systems. This role can be based in the UK, Poland or Romania and can be fully home based.
As the Executive Director, Data Aggregation & Reporting, you will be the senior leader responsible for enabling Parexel's enterprise reporting, metrics, and standardized operational data products spanning clinical, safety, and corporate domains. You will also lead Data Lake Strategy, Engineering and Operations as well as Enterprise Integration capabilities, and the overall data preparation and transformation functions required to power analytics, AI enablement, and sponsor data delivery.
You will partner in the business to ensure trusted, high‑quality, well‑governed data, consistent definitions, and reliable data movement across the enterprise. You will work with senior leaders across technology and business functions to ensure Parexel operates with clear, consistent, compliant, and actionable data.
Key Responsibilities & What You'll Do- Enterprise Data Aggregation & Reporting Leadership: Lead strategy, design, and roadmap for enterprise reporting and analytics aligned to operational, clinical, financial, and safety needs. Drive the creation of standardized enterprise metrics, KPIs, and dashboards. Ensure consistent definitions and alignment with Data Governance and MDM. Partner in the development and scaling of reporting & metrics Center of Excellence.
- Data Lake Engineering & Operations Oversight: Lead engineering teams responsible for ingestion, transformation, storage, and optimization of enterprise data in the Enterprise Data Lake. Oversee performance, reliability, security, and lifecycle of data lake environments. Ensure all data domains (clinical, safety, financial, HR, scientific, etc.) have scalable engineering pipelines aligned with governance requirements.
- Enterprise Integration Capability Ownership: Lead teams responsible for API engineering, backend integration, and enterprise data flow. Ensure reliable movement of data between source systems, the data lake, reporting platforms, and client delivery mechanisms. Establish robust integration patterns, standards, monitoring, and observability.
- Data Quality, Governance, and MDM Partnership: Drive high-quality, validated data preparation and staging for reporting and analytics, partner with governance teams on data definitions, lineage, cataloging, and quality improvements. Support information enforcement mechanisms and operational agreements. Represent Data & Technology Data governance, standards and oversight forums.
- Delivery Excellence & Cross-Functional Leadership: Serve as the D&T executive partner for operational leaders and sponsors—aligning reporting and data services with organizational priorities. Lead cross-functional intake, prioritization, and delivery processes to ensure cohesive, timely outcomes. Drive transparency and communication of enterprise roadmaps.
- Team Leadership & Organizational Development: Build, mentor, and lead global teams across data engineering, data modeling, visualization, and integration engineering. Champion skill growth in cloud engineering, Databricks, Power BI, structured data modeling, and integration frameworks. Promote a culture of innovation, operational rigor, and customer-focused delivery.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Information Systems, or related field required.
- Master's degree preferred.
- Executive-level communication, influence, and stakeholder engagement.
- Deep understanding of data lake design, data engineering, and cloud architecture.
- Strong command of enterprise reporting, metrics standardization, and data modeling.
- Expertise in enterprise integrations (APIs, event-driven architectures, ETL/ELT patterns).
- Ability to operate in regulated life sciences environments with strong governance requirements.
- Proven success leading global technical and functional teams.
- Many years of Senior or Executive level experience in data engineering, reporting, analytics, or enterprise data management.
- Demonstrated leadership of large-scale data lake engineering and reporting programs.
- Experience with enterprise integration technologies, APIs, and data distribution models.
- Strong knowledge of clinical development, safety, operational systems, and associated data.
- Experience partnering with Data Governance, MDM, and architecture bodies.
- Familiarity with Databricks, Azure, Power BI, modern data catalogs, and MDM platforms.
