We are now seeking to appoint two Lecturers (1×0.5 FTE and 1×1.0 FTE) to join the Medical Sciences BSc (Top‑Up Programme) which will be delivered online. The programme prepares students for entry into Medicine. While the primary focus of the role is teaching on the BSc, the successful candidate may also contribute – where appropriate and depending on expertise – to teaching, assessment and student support across other levels and programmes in person within the school.

The School has a long tradition of teaching across a breadth of Bioscience disciplines, from Sport and Exercise Science, Nutrition, Food Science and Dietetics to Biochemistry and Microbiology. Our undergraduate degree programmes include Biomedical Science, Biological Science and Veterinary Bioscience.

About You

We are looking for someone experienced in handling the challenges associated with transition to medicine and who shares the progressive, student‑centred teaching philosophy of our existing team.

  • At least a BSc in a relevant subject.
  • Working towards or have a postgraduate qualification.
  • Teaching qualification or fellowship of the Higher Education Academy (HEA).
  • Experience within Higher Education and/or Further Education.
  • Proven track record of creativity and innovative educational practice.
  • Prior experience of teaching at FHEQ level 6 is also essential.
