As Lifecare Chemistry continues to grow, we are looking for our next Senior Scientist Biosensor Testing and Development to join our team in Bristol. This is an exciting opportunity for a curious, hands-on scientist who wants to contribute to the development of next-generation implantable biosensor technology.

In this role , you will work at the forefront of scientific innovation, helping to transform research into reliable, real-world solutions. You will design and run thoughtful experiments, analyse sensor performance, investigate technical challenges and turn complex data into clear insight that supports product development and decision-making.
As part of a small and focused team, you will take ownership of the testing side of our chemistry work . The role is hands-on and varied : one day you may be developing and documenting a new testing methodology or procedure , and the next you may be investigating unexpected sensor behaviour , reviewing long-term performance data or defining the next steps needed to improve reliability and performance .
We believe you bring the right competence when you...
Hold a PhD in Chemistry, Materials Science, Biochemistry, Biosensing or a closely related field.
Have strong R&D experience, including experimental design, method development, data analysis and scientific troubleshooting.
Bring experience with sensor, material or formulation characterisation, preferably using techniques such as rheology, DLS, osmolarity measurements, fluorescence-based assays, spectroscopy or electrophoresis.
Are confident developing and documenting laboratory methods, SOPs, protocols, technical reports and clear procedures.
Can turn complex experimental data into insight that supports reliable decisions and practical next steps.
