About the role
The Insights team is LifeArc’s central resource for analysing scientific, competitive and IP landscapes to support strategy, project selection and portfolio decisions. The team works closely with LifeArc Ventures and our Translational Challenges to analyse the potential of translational life science opportunities, informing decision making and ensuring LifeArc achieves maximum patient impact.
As the Senior Analyst for Global Health & Diagnostics, you will act as the team’s subject-matter expert for diagnostics across LifeArc’s business areas, with a focus on supporting the Global Health Translational Challenge (GH TC), as well as to support diagnostic projects across LifeArc. You should bring a strong understanding of diagnostics development and knowledge of challenges and opportunities to tackle AMR. You will lead and manage analysis of scientific opportunities across diagnostics and digital/device modalities, supporting a range of translational approaches including funding calls, collaborations and internal development projects. You will also support diagnostic strategy development across the TCs through targeted landscaping and contribute to broader Insights projects beyond AMR and diagnostics where needed. This role works closely with the Insights Principal (Business Partner for the GH TC) and the wider TC team. Senior Analysts are also expected to take on matrix- and line-management responsibilities, mentor junior team members and contribute to improving Insights team processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver complex diligence and landscaping projects independently.
- Define project scope and analytical strategy with Principal Analysts and cross‑functional teams.
- Present clear, high‑impact insights to senior internal stakeholders to support strategic decision‑making.
- Proactively identify opportunities where Insights can add value across LifeArc.
- Provide training, mentoring and support for junior analysts.
- Recommend and implement improvements to Insights team ways of working.
Essential Experience & Education
- PhD in a relevant life sciences discipline related to AMR and/or Diagnostics, or equivalent experience.
- Strong understanding of the global AMR challenge, including research landscape and practical interventions.
- In‑depth knowledge of diagnostic development (R&D, regulatory requirements, access/implementation), ideally in rare disease and/or global health contexts.
- Familiarity with the key stages involved in developing novel therapeutics.
- Conducting technical, IP and commercial due diligence and landscaping, using desk research and expert consultation.
- Assessing diagnostic and digital technology opportunities.
- Understanding the fundamentals of clinical development in diagnostics as well as therapeutics.
- Matrix and/or line management experience.
- Regular engagement with senior stakeholders, with clear examples of shaping strategic decisions.
