The Life360 Communications team is looking for a Data Visualization Designer who can transform complex data into compelling visual stories that inspire, inform, and engage internal and external audiences. This role is a critical member of our Communications team, translating Life360's location insights and business metrics into narratives that resonate with audiences ranging from our employees to our board of directors to press and external partners.
This isn’t your typical designer role. The communication team is on a mission to position Life360 as the #1 brand for making everyday family life better, fostering awareness, engagement, and trust among families and stakeholders (including employees) worldwide. You’ll work at the intersection of data, storytelling, and strategic communications. You’ll be the go-to expert who makes the complex simple, the abstract tangible, and the data beautiful.
What You’ll Do:
- Transform Life360’s extensive location insights and proprietary data into compelling visual narratives for media, partners, and public communications, in close partnership with the broader Communications team.
- Design infographics, interactive visualizations, and data report visuals that showcase Life360’s impact and insights.
- Design board presentations that communicate complex business performance, strategic initiatives, and future vision with clarity and impact.
- Create executive presentations for leadership team meetings, external speaking engagements and internal events, like the virtual company All Hands meetings.
- Develop visual frameworks that help leadership communicate company strategy, OKRs, and key business metrics.
- Handle highly confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
- Create internal presentation templates that maintain brand consistency while allowing teams to tell their stories effectively.
What We’re Looking For:
- Expert proficiency in design tools, including Figma, Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, GSlides), and data visualization platforms (Tableau, PowerBI, or similar).
- Strong understanding of data storytelling principles, information hierarchy, and visual communication best practices.
- Ability to find a story in a sea of a data spreadsheet.
- Experience working with confidential information and executive-level content, demonstrating discretion and professional judgment.
- Proven ability to work in fast-paced environments with multiple stakeholders and competing priorities.
- Operates with both a right and left brain mindset.
- Exceptional communication skills with the ability to present and defend design decisions to senior leadership.
- Daily user of AI.
- Self-starter mentality with the ability to work independently in a fully remote environment.
- Bonus: Motion editing and video editing skills; prior experience in communications, PR, or journalism; experience working with senior leadership.
Life360 Values:
- Be a Good Person - We have a team of high integrity people you can trust.
- Be Direct With Respect - We communicate directly, even when it’s hard.
- Members Before Metrics - We focus on building an exceptional experience for families.
