Location: Sutton Coldfield, Birmingham (Hybrid flexible working)
Job Type: Full-Time, Fixed-Term Contract (12-months)
Salary: £25,610.65 per annum
Look after the people who look after families.
Every day, our colleagues care for families when someone they love has died. It's important work, and it isn't always easy. They deserve an HR team that gets things right the first time: contracts that are correct, questions answered quickly, and records they can trust. That's where you come in.
As our HR Administrator, you'll be the first person many colleagues talk to about their job, their pay, their pension or their paperwork. You'll make sure every starter, change and leaver is handled accurately and on time, and that people come away feeling properly looked after. We call it Taking the Greatest Care, and it applies to each other as much as to the families we serve.
What your days will look like
No two days are quite the same. You'll:
- Be the first point of contact for HR questions, answering what you can and getting the rest to the right person quickly.
- Run our starter, change, leaver and reference processes, making sure everything meets our service levels and Financial Conduct Authority requirements.
- Keep employee records complete and accurate by chasing missing information with managers and scanning documents onto our HR system.
- Handle pension enquiries from colleagues, third parties and pension providers.
- Manage Subject Access Requests and other legal requests for information within deadline.
- Let our Employee Relations Manager know when adverse information comes in about new or existing colleagues.
- Pull together HR reports and metrics for the People Services team.
- Support our People Advisers and Business Partners with projects, formal meetings and the paperwork behind them.
- Carry out the checks and audits that keep our HR administration in good shape.
What you'll bring
You're organised, you notice the detail, and you like helping people. You can juggle several things at once without dropping any of them, and you're comfortable talking to people by phone, email or face-to-face. You're curious about how things work, and you enjoy fixing a problem. You're confident with Microsoft Office, including Excel at an intermediate level. You've probably worked somewhere fast-paced where change is normal, ideally a large organisation with teams in lots of locations. If you've used a cloud-based HR system, that's a bonus.
You don't need to be CIPD qualified yet. If you're working towards it, or you'd like to start, we'll support you. This role gives you a view of every corner of HR, so it's a great place to build a career.

Why Life Services Group
Life Services Group exists to help every family in Britain navigate the hardest moments of life. We bring together trusted names across funeral services, crematoria and cemeteries, legal services, direct cremation and wills, including Dignity Funeral Directors, CMG, Simplicity Cremations, Dignity Legal Services and Farewell, so families can get more of the support they need in one place.
Our ambition is to support one in three families across the UK as they plan for, navigate and deal with death. We want to set a new standard for care, service and simplicity across the sector.
Death is part of life, and being there for families when it matters is what we do. That means making difficult moments feel more supported, more straightforward and more human.
We are building a modern group that supports families at every stage, from planning ahead with wills and funeral plans, to arranging a funeral, cremation or burial, and managing probate afterwards. This is a defining moment for our business. With stronger foundations, clearer strategy and real momentum, we can change end-of-life care for the better. We are modernising how we work, investing in our colleagues and technology, and helping more families than any one brand could alone.
Wherever you work in Life Services Group, in one of our local teams, specialist brands or group functions, you’ll be part of work with meaningful purpose. You will help families through some of life’s hardest and most important moments.
Across all our brands, we want colleagues to grow with us through better training, stronger support, modern tools and clearer opportunities to build skills and confidence. You’ll be part of teams who care deeply about what they do, look out for each other and take pride in doing work that matters.
You will also help shape the future of end-of-life care. That means making support simpler, more connected and more human for families, while each brand keeps the identity, expertise and community connection people already know and trust.
If you want a career with meaningful purpose, room to grow with us and the chance to shape the future, find your Life’s work.
