We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Operations Coordinator to support the efficient delivery of publishing operations within a bioscience-focused environment. This role plays a vital part in coordinating workflows across editorial, production, and commercial teams to ensure high-quality scientific content is published accurately and on schedule.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate end-to-end publishing workflows, from manuscript submission through to final publication
- Liaise with editorial teams, authors, reviewers, and production vendors to ensure timelines are met
- Track manuscript progress using publishing systems and ensure data accuracy across platforms
- Support peer review processes, including reviewer invitations and follow-ups
- Assist in managing publication schedules, issue planning, and content pipelines
- Maintain and update operational documentation, guidelines, and standard operating procedures
- Monitor key performance metrics (e.g., turnaround times, acceptance rates) and produce reports
- Identify workflow inefficiencies and contribute to process improvements
- Ensure compliance with publishing ethics, data integrity standards, and industry guidelines (e.g., COPE, open access policies)
- Support invoicing, article processing charges (APCs), and author queries where applicable
Skills & Qualifications:
- Experience in academic, scientific, or medical publishing (highly desirable)
- Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, particularly in a scientific context
- Familiarity with manuscript submission and tracking systems (e.g., ScholarOne, Editorial Manager)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel for tracking and reporting

Education & Background:
