Medical Information Specialist (English and Spanish speaking)
About the Role
The Medical Information Specialist supports Medical Information activities across the ACE region through escalation management, maintenance of response resources, reporting and analysis, vendor collaboration, and documentation oversight.
This role applies scientific expertise, operational excellence, and sound judgment to ensure accurate, balanced, evidence-based, and compliant Medical Information support.
Working closely with Medical Information leadership, regional stakeholders, vendors, and cross-functional teams, the specialist helps deliver high-quality Medical Information services while ensuring consistency, compliance, and continuous process improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Support Medical Information escalations across the ACE region, including request clarification, coordination, follow-up, and escalation of complex issues.
- Manage complex scientific inquiries and content reviews in compliance-sensitive situations.
- Conduct literature searches, critically evaluate scientific evidence, and develop evidence-based Medical Information responses.
- Create, update, review, and maintain Medical Information response documents and supporting resources in accordance with regional and local requirements.
- Perform periodic reviews to ensure response materials remain current, accurate, balanced, appropriately referenced, and compliant.
- Generate reports and analyze Medical Information activity, customer insights, trends, and operational metrics to identify improvement opportunities.
- Support vendor management activities, including quality reviews, case audits, feedback, training coordination, and process consistency.
- Contribute to process improvement initiatives that enhance operational efficiency, documentation quality, and regional consistency.
- Participate in onboarding, training, and knowledge-sharing activities for vendors, new team members, and cross-functional partners.
- Maintain documentation, version control, and repository management to support audit and inspection readiness.
- Apply sound scientific and compliance judgment, including the responsible use of AI tools with appropriate human oversight and timely escalation of potential risks.
- Knowledge & Skills
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Strong scientific writing and medical writing abilities.
- Experience conducting literature searches and critically appraising scientific evidence.
- Ability to develop clear, accurate, balanced, and well-referenced Medical Information content.
- Strong understanding of compliance requirements and the ability to identify potential promotional or compliance risks.
- Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail and documentation practices.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced regional environment.
- Strong analytical skills with experience interpreting data and preparing reports.
- Experience with document management systems, version control, and content repositories.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, regional stakeholders, and external vendors.
- Comfortable using AI and digital tools responsibly to improve productivity while maintaining scientific accuracy and compliance.
Education & Experience
- Degree in Pharmacy, Life Sciences, Medicine, or a related scientific discipline.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in Medical Information or a comparable role within the pharmaceutical, healthcare, or other scientific and compliance-driven environment.
- Pharmaceutical industry or Medical Information vendor experience is preferred.
- Experience with scientific response development, literature evaluation, document review, reporting and analysis, vendor management, documentation control, or training activities is desirable.
- Previous experience supporting regional or multi-country Medical Information operations is an advantage.
