Overview: An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and driven Account Director to join a growing and respected medical communications agency based in Buckinghamshire. This role is ideal for a strategic thinker and skilled relationship-builder who thrives on delivering high-quality scientific communications in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

The Role: As Account Director, you will take ownership of key client relationships, guiding the strategic direction and ensuring the successful delivery of a broad range of Med Comms projects. You will lead cross-functional teams and play a pivotal role in driving business growth, team development, and client satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead strategic planning and execution of medical communications programs, including publications, meetings, digital media, and internal communications
  • Manage day-to-day client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor and ensuring exceptional service delivery
  • Oversee project timelines, budgets, and resources to ensure quality, compliance, and on-time delivery
  • Work closely with editorial, creative, and scientific teams to shape content and campaigns that resonate with HCPs and stakeholders
  • Identify new opportunities within existing accounts and contribute to business development initiatives and pitch processes
  • Mentor and support junior team members, promoting a positive and collaborative working culture

Key Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Senior Account Manager or Account Director within a medical communications agency
  • Strong understanding of the pharmaceutical industry, including regulatory and compliance requirements
  • Excellent client management and interpersonal skills with a strategic, consultative approach
  • Confident managing complex projects and leading multi-disciplinary teams
  • Scientific background (life sciences degree or higher) preferred but not essential
  • Exceptional organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to travel occasionally for client meetings or events
