Senior Lifeguard – Stockport, Greater Manchester Reporting to: Duty Managers, Assistant General Manager and General Manager Job Purpose: To assist in the smooth running of the pool area by providing a first-class service Hours: 37 hours per week Location: Life Leisure Grand Central Salary: £12.24 an hour Person Specification: Our Senior Lifeguards are enthusiastic, responsible, and hardworking individuals who supervise a wide variety of swimming sessions, maintain high standards of cleanliness and assist with general day to day operations. The Senior Lifeguard can also be a stepping stone towards a career in leisure management; many of our team have progressed into other areas of the business and management roles over time. To work as a Senior Lifeguard you’ll need to have an NPLQ. Duties and Responsibilities: Supervision and control of pool and surrounding area to ensure safety of bathers, in accordance with the Life Leisure Policy Statement and HSG179 – Managing Health & Safety in Swimming Pools. Responsible for the day to day running of the pool staff, cleaners and support for the duty manager on shift. The site in which they will be working at is a busy 50m swimming pool with multiple sessions and activities that will need coordinating throughout the day. Perform rescues, give immediate first aid in the event of injury or initiate other emergency action as appropriate. Clean pool and surrounding areas, showers and changing facilities and other areas as required. Responsible for general safety and behaviour of the public, preventing misuse or damage to internal and external facilities. Assemble and dismantle equipment and displays, reporting any defects affecting safety of users. Assist users with instructions on the proper use of equipment, when necessary. To carry out any other duties deemed necessary to meet the needs and demands of the business.
