The Role
We are seeking a compassionate and committed SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will work closely with class teachers and the SENCO to support pupils with a range of special educational needs (SEN), ensuring they can access the curriculum and thrive in a positive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 or small group support for pupils with a range of special educational needs (e.g., autism, ADHD, speech and language, learning difficulties).
- Implement individual education plans (IEPs) and support strategies under the guidance of the SENCO and class teacher.
- Encourage and promote independence, confidence, and emotional well-being in pupils.
- Support the teacher in managing behaviour and maintaining a positive classroom atmosphere.
- Assist with preparing learning materials and resources.
