A vacancy exists for a Theatre Administrator based at Life St George’s Hospital reporting to Elma Leonard, Theatre Unit Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and coordinating accurate preference cards to support and sustain a quality and efficient e‑billing system, in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, in line with the Company’s strategic objectives of Growth, Efficiency, Quality, and Sustainability.

Critical Outputs
  • Effective management of preference cards and templates (surgical and anesthetic) – edit, update, or create new preference cards as required and obtain sign‑off from relevant persons.
  • Load preference cards for theatre cases on the system for the next day’s theatre lists as well as for any emergency cases.
  • Effectively monitor Impilo Dashboard and action any errors.
  • Manual capturing of billing on Impilo (stock and equipment).
  • Effective capturing of procedure and items required for the electronic theatre register and case.
  • Achieve optimal system utilization.
  • Be a super‑user/champion to assist with multi‑touch screen issues and troubleshooting.
  • Assist with consignment stock and loan set coordination and management.
  • Assist in cycle counts and monthly stock takes to achieve hospital variance targets.
  • Case management communication and capturing of procedures.
  • Management of stock variance reports in collaboration with the unit manager and stock controller to achieve stock targets.
  • Effective people‑management skills – participate in collaborative and engaging team dynamics with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Establish lifelong partnerships with our customers to promote LHC as the preferred hospital of choice – effective communication skills.
  • Ability to work within a multidisciplinary team.
Requirements
  • Matric certificate.
  • Experience in billing / stock management required.
  • Working experience within a theatre environment is a strong advantage.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Strong administration skills.
  • Participative and collaborative with all members of the team to foster and develop a healthy and positive working environment that actively promotes a joint performance and value‑based culture.
  • Effective leadership skills including highly developed communication, problem‑solving and conflict resolution skills.
  • Exceptional communication and organizational skills and a strong understanding of theatre structure and the role of all personnel.
