As a Business Intelligence (BI) Analyst at Lidl your input will be crucial in driving business impact through data and insight.

Our Head Office Controlling Department is looking to recruit an analyst to join their Business Intelligence team on a 23-month fixed term contract.

In this role you will support internal stakeholders and senior management by delivering outstanding insight to generate business value that exceeds stakeholder expectations.

The Business Intelligence function is tasked to support the whole business; therefore, you should expect to work on diverse projects, which will impact decision making across the entire business.

In this role, you will also be working closely with our Data Science and Management Accounting teams who are co-located in our office in south-west London.

To keep in line with company structure, this role will be called Consultant internally.

Please be aware, should this temporary assignment have the potential to go permanent, the colleague on the temporary assignment will have first‑refusal of the role (provided measures have been met).

  • What you’ll do
  • Work with our colleagues in Controlling to provide support for all national departments, generating trusted data views to support reporting and analysis.
  • Developing, testing and implementing solutions that provide the business with the ability to gain insight from the data.
  • Gather, manipulate and analyse data from various sources, both internal and external, to create new insights.
  • Define and support governance for new methods of data retrieval through documentation and training of processes.
  • Provide innovative reporting solutions including process improvements and automation.
  • Manage your own projects end-to-end: defining requirements, conducting test cases, demonstrating value, and supporting implementationadoption.
  • Communicate effectively with non‑technical colleagues across the business to ensure understanding and trust in our solutions and insights.
  • Take responsibility for achieving high technical standards so that your solutions are appropriate, comprehensible, well‑structured, and reproducible.
  • What you’ll need
  • Advanced knowledge of SQL is essential
  • Knowledge of Python and/or VBA desirable
  • Curious, self‑motivated, and proactive individual with a can‑do attitude
  • Ability to work on projects and solve problems independently
  • Experience of project and stakeholder management
  • Ability to liaise and communicate at both a technical and non‑technical level
  • Keen eye for detail and good quality control
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines and to deliver accurate results
  • Excellent presentation and communication (written and verbal) skills
  • Ability to work well in a team
