We are looking for a high‑energy, detail‑oriented Associate Consultant to join our dynamic Brand Engagement team.
Reporting directly to the Communications & Events Team Manager, you will be the driving force behind our busy consumer press office, buzzing events, and major product launches.

Responsibilities
- Working with the team to devise and implement Lidl GB's consumer communications strategy.
- Day‑to‑day management of Lidl's busy consumer press office, responding to issues and enquiries on a range of subject matters.
- Building and coordinating national, regional, and trade business announcements regarding Lidl product launches and campaigns.
- Management of event logistics and coordination including domestic and international press trips, wine tastings, and Christmas events.
- Assisting in the management of the consumer comms agency and working with our Marketing department and agencies to project‑manage engaging and impactful communications for our customers through our owned and above‑the‑line channels.
- Collaborating with internal stakeholders and cross‑functional teams, including Marketing, CSR, Supply Chain, Legal, and Buying, to ensure operational efficiency and integrated campaign delivery.
- Developing communications materials including briefing documents, press releases, presentations and background research.
- Staying on top of wider news agenda – informing the communications team of relevant stories.
- Compiling and coordinating reports on a weekly, monthly, and annual basis.
- Supporting budget and invoice processing.
- Deputising for the Communications & Events Team Manager in their absence and providing day‑to‑day support for the Press Office Assistant.
Qualifications
- Significant experience within a consumer communications role either at an agency or in‑house.
- Experience working with retailers or big brands, and a substantial understanding and knowledge of the retail sector and the role of Lidl within it.
- Experience using media monitoring and analysis tools such as Onclusive and Reptrak.
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment with strong time‑management skills and the ability to work across several projects at once.
- Natural flair for problem solving.
- Proactive and hands‑on, with a drive to continuously improve.
- Exceptional writing skills, with an eye for detail and the ability to adapt to the company's tone of voice.
- Excellent command of English grammar, with both verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to predict the media agendas and respond to them effectively.
- Strong knowledge of the UK media landscape and good media contacts.
- Unflappable in high‑pressure situations.
- Always acting with integrity and discretion.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and competency working with internal teams as well as with people across all levels of the business and external partners.
