Overview
From our Head Office to the shop floor and everywhere in between our primary goal is to create and deliver a fantastic customer journey for everyone who shops at Lidl. Customer obsessed, high energy and love learning every day? Earn £370+ per week as a Customer Assistant on our standard 30 hour contract. Your role will be varied working across different shift times, tasks and with different colleagues.
As a Customer Assistant you are required to sell alcohol, therefore you must be 18 or over to work in our store.
Shift Patterns
- Morning shift: Starting at 5am or 6am with your team, you’ll be getting our award-winning products fully stocked on the shop floor and our bakery products ready for customers to enjoy by opening time.
- Middle shift: Starting mid-morning or early afternoon, you’ll keep stores spotlessly clean, well presented and products fresh, while helping customers with queries and working on tills to minimise queues.
- Late shift: Afternoon start, you’ll ensure a top-class customer experience by serving on tills, restocking missing items and getting the store ready for the next day.
What you’ll do
- Interact with customers in a pleasant, friendly and helpful manner
- Ensure stock loss controls are followed in all areas of the store
- Maintain store and external cleanliness and hygiene standards
- Follow freshness and rotation principles
- Ensure all waste is managed correctly
- Assist in the stock count process
What you’ll need

We offer a competitive and transparent salary system, that ensures pay equality across all positions at Lidl
- £12.40 per hour rising to £14.10 per hour after 3 years
- Additional supplements paid depending on the days & hours worked

Salary progression by year
- Year 1: Basic Rate £12.40; £15.50 unsocial hours; £18.60 overtime/Sundays
- Year 2: Basic Rate £12.80; £16.00 unsocial hours; £19.20 overtime/Sundays
- Year 3: Basic Rate £13.40; £16.75 unsocial hours; £20.10 overtime/Sundays
- Year 4: Basic Rate £14.10; £17.63 unsocial hours; £21.15 overtime/Sundays
