As our new Marketing Planning Consultant, you’ll be the strategic driving force behind our owned‑channel marketing campaigns. If you thrive in a fast‑paced environment and have a passion for keeping everything from seasonal magazines to regular promotional activity seamlessly aligned, this is the role for you. You’ll take the lead on managing and optimising our owned channels, ensuring our key marketing campaigns hit the right note across every single touchpoint.

This isn’t just about high‑level planning; it’s a hands‑on commercial role where you will guide the team in creating stellar campaign briefs, prioritising day‑to‑day promotions, and act as a crucial bridge between our buying teams and creative agencies. Reporting directly to the Marketing Planning Team Manager, you'll have ownership over critical tools and strategies—including our recipe content and leaflet space planning—while ensuring everything we produce strictly adheres to our high international standards.

What you’ll do:

  • Overseeing the planning of owned channels, creation of leaflet space plans, and directing newsletter plans (trade driving and campaign specific)
  • Reviewing channel plans and content briefs created within the team to ensure all information is correct and clear direction is given, before entering the workflow
  • Creating briefs for selected seasonal campaigns, working with buyers to build out product lists and CIX to gather insights relevant to the preparation of briefs
  • Working with LP team to create briefs to support Lidl Plus activations, ensuring these are suitably amplified and slotted into campaign briefs where appropriate
  • Creating the brief for the Lidl seasonal magazine, which define the strategic direction for content, in addition supplying product lists alongside these briefs to support the creative development of the magazine
  • Ownership of the SCP, ensuring all members of the team manage campaign plans within the tool and that this adheres to international guidelines
  • Working closely with the rest of the team to plan how specific campaigns can be amplified in owned channels alongside regular promotions
  • Owner of our recipe content strategy, responsible for briefing recipes to agencies when required
  • Final reviewer for all runner content before handover to production

  • Strong organisational skills and with the capability to balance multiple priorities
  • Proactive, inquisitive nature with an unwavering eye for detail
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate and influence with internal and external stakeholders ranging from commercial teams to creatives
  • Excellent team player with a collaborative approach to working
  • Confident with excellent communication skills (both written and verbal grammar)
