Our Head Office Brand Engagement team is looking for a Consumer Communications and Events Officer.
Within this role you’ll play a central part in driving brand awareness and consumer engagement by managing high-impact consumer comms campaigns, brand events, and a fast-paced consumer press office.
Working closely with internal stakeholders and external agency partners, you will turn creative concepts into actionable plans that elevate Lidl’s brand presence and generate meaningful media conversation.
- What you’ll do
- Working closely with the wider Communciations and events team and agencies to deliver professional and engaging campaigns in line with our strategy and identifying talkable opportunities for us to tap into to drive interactions, positive share of voice and leverage consumer engagement opportunities online
- Responsible for the delivery of high-impact creative PR campaigns
- Working alongside the team on the day-to-day management of Lidl’s busy consumer press office, responding to issues and enquiries on a range of subject matters
- Building and coordinating national consumer announcements regarding Lidl product launches and campaigns
- Management of event logistics and coordination including domestic and international press trips, wine tastings and Christmas events
- Leading the execution local events with expertise e. g. festivals and county shows
- Leading the execution of consumer pop-up activations and experiences, working alongside PR and experiential agencies
- Developing communications materials including briefing documents, press releases, presentations and background research
- Working with the wider Marketing department and agencies to project-manage engaging and impactful communications for our customers through our owned and above the line channels
- Staying on top of wider news agenda – informing communications team of relevant stories
- Compiling and coordinating reports on a weekly, monthly, and annual basis
- Supporting with management of budget and invoice processing
- What you’ll need
- Proven experience working within consumer comms and events is essential, agency or in -house
- Comfortable collaborating within cross-functional environments to deliver campaigns and projects
- Able to demonstrate successfully delivering effective consumer comms and event activity that has driven business results
- Experience working within or managing media/creative agencies
- Confident in identifying insight and presenting content and recommendations to stakeholders
- Strong and confident communicator – both written and verbal
- A retail background is desirable
