Our Store Development Team is strengthening its construction team to meet ambitious expansion plans. We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Senior Construction Project Manager to join our team in Motherwell Property Office. You will manage, plan and oversee construction projects across Scotland ensuring the highest standards and deadlines are met.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the construction of new stores, extensions and modernisations of our existing store portfolio.
- Manage assigned project plans and deadlines.
- Monitor project progress and ensure quality standards are met at all times.
- Manage relationships with external companies, contractors and suppliers.
- Ensure compliance with corporate specification and internal procedures.
- Ensure the highest standards of Health & Safety performance on all construction sites.
- Remedy any issues quickly and effectively with an aim to keep projects moving and ensuring deadlines are not jeopardised.
- Report on the progress of construction projects to the Senior team.
- Budget management and controlling project costs.
Qualifications
- Educated to degree level or equivalent in Engineering or Construction.
- Proven experience in a Construction/Engineering related role.
- Experience in another retailer is desirable.
- PC literate with strong Microsoft Office skills.
- Professional and refined negotiator with sound commercial acumen and judgment.
- Highly organised with a pragmatic and analytical approach.
- Strong multi-tasker with the ability to prioritise conflicting deadlines/projects.
- Excellent communicator who can communicate confidently with people at all levels of the business.
- Team player who can perform tasks independently using their own initiative.
- RICS, CIOB or MAPM accreditation is desirable or working towards qualifications.
- Driving licence is essential for this role.
