Overview
Synthetic Chemist – Temporary Contract (possibility of permanent) – Heysham
We are working with a global fine chemicals company engaged in manufacturing of a range of products. You will be working on activities related to synthesis and analysis of a diverse product catalogue. This will involve working in a team to produce fine chemicals into high quality within project timescales.
What you’ll do
- The role is at its core synthesis of fine chemical products on a scale requested by the customer, up to 20 litres.
- This will involve you performing chemical reactions, taking these reactions through various steps, before liaising with QC to test specific reaction steps and/or final products.
- Specifications for these chemical reactions will be provided by both customers and the company; as well as chemical activities at the fume hood, this role will involve standard operating procedures, wider administration, and risk assessments being closely followed in a highly regulated environment.
- You will be responsible for completion of key administration regarding safety, project progress, and responding to internal and external audits.
- You will be working to ISO 14001 and responsible for safe disposal of waste from reactions or chemical spills.
