We are currently seeking motivated and detail-oriented Junior Engineering Associates to join our growing team. This entry-level position is designed for new graduates in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Materials Engineering, or a closely related discipline. The successful candidate will be assigned on a project-by-project basis to support our Welding Engineer, Senior Engineer, and Quality Manager across a variety of engineering disciplines. Projects will span the industries served by Liburdi Dimetrics Corporation, with a particular focus on the nuclear sector, as well as power generation and petrochemical industries. Domestic and international travel will be required on an as-needed basis. The hours will typically be Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 5:00 pm.

Base salary: $64,000 – $75,000 per year

Responsibilities

  • Welding & Fabrication Support
    • Assist in ensuring welding fabrications comply with standard welding engineering practices and applicable codes, including ASME, CSA, API, ISO, and customer specifications.
    • Support the preparation of fabrication drawings, weld maps, and process documents.
    • Assist with tooling and fixture design work under the direction of the Welding Engineer.
    • Participate in research and development activities related to new welding processes and techniques.
    • Help oversee project execution to ensure adherence to welding qualification plans and code compliance requirements.
    • Collaborate with customers, vendors, and project team members to support implementation of welding procedures and practices.
  • Project Engineering Support
    • Assist in reviewing contracts to understand project scope, deliverables, and schedules in collaboration with senior management and project stakeholders.
    • Support project coordination activities to help ensure milestones, technical requirements, and quality standards are met.
    • Contribute to the development of inspection and test plans, technique sheets, work instructions, and work plans.
    • Communicate project status updates and quality requirements to relevant team members and stakeholders.
    • Assist with documentation required for customer invoicing and project reporting.
    • Collaborate with the Site Superintendent/General Foreman to align contract scope with site conditions and identify gaps in staffing, tools, or equipment.
  • Quality & Manufacturing Support
    • Assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of quality assurance processes to ensure compliance with regulatory and customer requirements.
    • Support root-cause analysis and corrective/preventive action processes for product or process non-conformances.
    • Help maintain and update quality documentation, inspection criteria, and process records.
    • Participate in internal audits and support preparation for external audits from customers and regulatory agencies.
    • Assist in analyzing quality metrics and contribute to reports and recommendations for management.
    • Support manufacturing operations through process capability studies, control plans, and continuous improvement initiatives.
