Job Purpose: The Visual Merchandising Lead role is essential to the maintenance of Liberty’s high level of visual presentation across the store. A visionary lead with a strong understanding of design and retail marketing with a passion for setting trends and creating immersive brand experiences. You will play a key part in upholding Liberty’s renowned aesthetic and ensuring that every display embodies the brand’s creativity, craftsmanship, and attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the creation and execution of a cohesive visual merchandising strategy across all store and retail touchpoints.
- Ensure alignment with brand identity, marketing campaigns, and events.
- Manage and mentor a team of visual merchandisers.
- Provide direction and support to ensure displays are executed to the highest standard.
- Foster a collaborative, creative work environment.
- Develop visually engaging VM displays that captivate customers and enhance the shopping experience.
- Guide the team in implementing these designs effectively across store.
- Planning workflow, resourcing the teams in addition to supplier management and budgeting for the department.
- Create and own the master critical path for the VM department, working cross functionally with marketing, merchandising, retail and buying colleagues to ensure all updates and changes are cascaded.
- The central point of communication between internal teams and external brands, ensuring projects meet quality standards, adhere to timelines.
- Stay ahead of industry trends, including visual merchandising, design, and retail innovation.
- Experiment with new ideas, materials, and technologies to push the boundaries of traditional merchandising.
- Flexibility to work early mornings, evenings, or weekends during visual installations or peak seasons.
About You:
- Strong eye for detail with the ability to balance creative vision and commercial impact.
- Highly organised, able to manage multiple projects and deadlines in fast-paced retail environments.
- Confident communicator, experienced working with senior stakeholders and external partners.
- Collaborative, proactive leader with a track record of inspiring and developing teams.
- Solid background in visual merchandising within luxury or premium retail.
- Experienced in concept development, 3D visualisation and execution of innovative, brand-led displays.
- Proven people manager with experience mentoring and leading VM teams.
- Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite, SketchUp, and familiar with Monday.com and Microsoft Office.
- 5+ years’ visual merchandising experience, including 2+ years in a leadership role.
- Degree in Visual Merchandising, Interior Design or related field preferred.
