From our fulfilment centres to our flagship store, passion, vision and dynamism are part of our DNA – and that extends to our team.

Liberty is seeking a Junior or Midweight Designer, to provide an excellent bespoke design service to our customers worldwide. This includes understanding the unique needs of the brands we collaborate with, building brand profiles, and creating or recolouring prints that satisfy client requirements while reflecting Liberty’s heritage and high-quality standards. The role also covers our City Collection, designing across two seasonal Menswear collections with scope to expand into new bases such as Tana Cotton and Japanese Denim.

Please note, this is an FTC - from 5th January 2026, to 5th May 2026.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Act as a key figure in the bespoke process, proactively managing communication between customers, design, archive, and production teams.
  • Research with our Archivist to find design solutions in the Liberty archive, and redraw or clean archive designs/fragments where required.
  • Build and maintain customer profiles for regular clients, understanding their brand DNA and exclusivity requirements.
  • Translate briefs into curated concepts, narratives, and mood boards, aligned to fashion-forward and brand-relevant research.
  • Design new bespoke prints, colourways, and engineering/placement layouts that meet briefs while exercising design sensibility and self-editing.
  • Recolour and adapt designs to ensure they meet client needs and Liberty standards.
  • Develop and deliver two City Collection seasons annually, creating beautiful, high-quality menswear prints across a range of bases.
  • Draw and paint designs to the highest standard within critical path timelines.
  • Produce artwork, colourways, repeats, and technical files using Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and AVA.
  • Provide clear and coherent design information on cover sheets for factories, liaising with production in Italy and printers during strike-off and sampling.
  • Create presentations, Fentbooks, and maintain accurate records of bespoke and special designs.
  • Build and nurture strong relationships with international agents, partners, and customers, attending production meetings and contributing to fabric collaborations.
About You:
  • Proven experience as a Textile Print Designer with a strong portfolio showcasing creativity.
  • Formal education in Textile Design (or equivalent experience).
  • Fluency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and AVA.
  • Excellent drawing, painting, and hand-rendering skills.
  • Strong ability to interpret briefs, build narratives and deliver innovative print solutions.
  • Knowledge of design exclusivity, copyright systems, and production processes.
  • Confident presenter with strong communication skills, able to inspire both senior leadership and external partners.
  • Flexible to travel internationally each season, attending trade shows and partner meetings.
