Private Client Lawyer
Location: North Kent
Working Pattern: Full-time, office-based
We are recruiting on behalf of an established and well-regarded law firm in North Kent that is looking to appoint an experienced Private Client Lawyer to join its team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a private client specialist who enjoys managing their own caseload, building trusted relationships with clients and working as part of a supportive and professional legal team.
The successful candidate will manage a varied range of private client matters, including:
- Wills and estate planning
- Probate applications
- Estate administration
- Lasting Powers of Attorney
- General private client advisory work
You will work closely with clients from initial instruction through to completion, providing clear, practical and sensitive advice throughout.
The Role
Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing your own caseload of private client matters
- Meeting clients and taking detailed instructions
- Advising on wills, probate, estate planning and Powers of Attorney
- Drafting and reviewing legal documents
- Progressing matters efficiently and ensuring deadlines are met
- Liaising with beneficiaries, executors, financial advisers and other external professionals
- Maintaining accurate files and ensuring compliance with regulatory and firm standards
- Providing a consistently high standard of client care
- Supporting clients sensitively through what can often be difficult or emotional circumstances
- Contributing to networking, relationship building and business development activities
- Working collaboratively with colleagues across the wider firm
About You
We are looking for someone who is:
- A qualified Solicitor, Chartered Legal Executive, CILEX Lawyer or equivalent
- Experienced within private client law, with a minimum of two years’ relevant experience
- Confident handling wills, probate, estate administration, estate planning and Powers of Attorney
- Comfortable managing a busy caseload independently
- Client-focused, approachable and able to build strong relationships
- Able to explain complex legal matters clearly and sensitively
- Technically strong with excellent attention to detail
- Highly organised and able to manage competing priorities effectively
- Confident using case management systems and standard IT applications
- A team player who is also comfortable working independently
- Interested in contributing to the continued growth and development of the department
Previous private client experience is essential.
